- What is the difference between prefinished and unfinished hardwood flooring?
Prefinished hardwood flooring has already been coated by a stain and finish prior to installation. Today's prefinished hardwoods have vastly improved and all those found on 360FLOORING.com can stand the test of time. We typically recommend prefinished hardwoods for remodeling projects where the dust and time associated with installing, sanding and finishing an unfinished hardwood floor is not as condusive. For most new home constructions and those remodeling projects that are not as restricted by the aforementioned hurdles we recommend purchasing an unfinished hardwood flooring product and doing the sanding and finiishing onsite. For more guidance on which option is best for your project just contact us and we'll be happy to provide you as much assistance as necessary.

If you are in an area with high humidity levles you may need to install some humidity controls like a humidifier or dehumidifier to offer your hardwood flooring the best possible installation environment.
